Easter Comedy Show at Jou Ma Se Comedy Club (28 March)
Why not kick off your Easter weekend in Cape Town with some well-deserved giggles at Jou Ma Se Comedy Club on Thursday, 28 March 2013. Managed by comedic veteran Kurt Schoonraad, the stand-up venue calls on funny-men and –women to regale audiences at the Player’s Café at the River Club in Observatory.

Easter Egg Hunt & Craft Market at the V&A Waterfront (22 March – 7 April)
Keep the little ones entertained this Easter in Cape Town with a range of fun goings-on at retail mecca, the V&A Waterfront. The seaside shopping and entertainment hub provides kids with great things to do while moms and dads get on with their aisle cruising.
- Lindt Gold Bunny Maze at Barrow Court
This year, the Easter installation in the Barrow Court at the V&A Waterfront is bigger and better than before, and gives children (and parents) a chance to meander through a maze and hunt the hedgerow for yummy Lindt Lindor balls. There is no charge to walk through the maze, and it is open to the public from Friday, 22 to Sunday, 31 March 2013.
- Easter Garden at the V&A Waterfront Craft Market
The laughter of little ones will resonate through the craft market at the V&A Waterfront this Easter. Kids can enjoy face painting, cuddle and feed furry friends at the ever-popular petting zoo or make masterpieces at the sand art, DIY Easter egg and paper mâché egg decorating workshops.
Tickets: Access to the Lindt Gold Bunny Maze at Barrow Court is free. Activities at the Easter Garden at the V&A Waterfront Craft Market are priced individually.
Easter Weekend at Radisson Blu Waterfront (29 – 31 March)
Wine, dine and celebrate the Easter weekend in Cape Town at the ocean-front eatery, Tobago’s Restaurant at the Radisson Blu Waterfront. Easter Weekend at the Mount Nelson

Easter Weekend at the One and Only (30 March – 1 April)
Indulge in a range of Easter-themed activities at the famed One and Only Hotel in Cape Town.
- From Saturday, 30 March to Monday, 1 April, top pastry chef René Simatos is set to knock your sweet-tooth socks off with an extravagant Easter Bunny Afternoon Tea Buffet. Easter Art Programme at Artjamming Studios (1 – 5 April)
Kids can get creative this Easter in Cape Town thanks to a special week-long school holiday programme at Artjamming Studios in the Mother City. On Monday, 1 April, kiddies receive a free Easter egg and sand art session with every stretched box canvas bought on the day. If your little artist is into comics and graphic novels, why not send them to the two-part “Art of Comics” (10am – 12:30am) sessions on Tuesday and Thursday? Otherwise, let their imaginations run wild at the “Jackson Pollock Collage” (10am – 12pm) workshop on Wednesday, or encourage them to delve into “Mosaic Art” (10am – 12pm) techniques on Friday.

Kids Easter Holidays Cooking Classes (3 – 4 April)
Do you have a mini masterchef at home? If your little one displays signs of being a budding Jamie Oliver, Nigella Lawson or Gordon Ramsay (sans the foul mouth), then enrol them in the Stir Crazy Cooking School in Observatory on Wednesday, 3 and Thursday, 4 April 2013 for fun and interactive cooking class for kids. Little ones will learn how to properly use cooking utensils, conduct themselves in the kitchen and will find out how to cook in a safe and fun environment. Parents are welcome to join.

Slip into the whirlpool and celebrate Easter at the epic annual trance party Vortex: Steps to the Stars V.04 from Friday, 29 March to Monday, 1 April 2013. This four-day outdoor trance party takes place near Riviersonderend, and is known for its stomping beats and sick groovies. Needless to say, it promises to deliver revelers an opskop of note.
Tickets: Pre-sale tickets are available online via 3AM.co.za at R330p/p (includes booking fee), at selected retail outlets at R370p/p (includes booking fee) or at the gate on the day at R400p/p. No individual day passes will be sold.
Nomadiq Rooftop Experience at the Park Inn Radisson Hotel
Gear up for some seriously heavy house beats this Easter in Cape Town. The Nomadiq Rooftop Experience party at the Park Inn Radisson Hotel features top DJs giving it their all from a sky-high city centre venue on Saturday, 30 March 2013.
Tickets: Early bird tickets are available until Monday, 18 March 2013 via Residentadvisor.net and cost R67,50p/p. Thereafter, tickets will cost R112.50p/p (prices include booking fee). Party starts at 1pm and runs until 11pm. Line-up is yet to be announced.
Easter Egg Hunt at Delvera Agri-Village
Hop on down to the Delvera agri-village in Stellenbosch for an afternoon of sweet treats. In celebration of Easter, annual egg hunts are scheduled for Thursday, 28 March, Saturday, 30 March and Monday, 1 April 2013, at the new kiddies’ venue, Kids Xing (crossing). A range of flags (with price tags on them) will be planted in the lush garden, and little ones are invited to snatch up the hidden treasures and redeem them for yummy Easter eggs at the venue’s front desk.
Tickets: Entry to the egg hunt is free. Patrons will have to pay the allotted price (on the flag) when picking up their Easter eggs.
Easter Bunny Party at Maverick’s
Perk up your Easter weekend in Cape Town at the Mother City’s premier gentlemen’s club. On Saturday, 30 March 2013, the sophisticated strip club is set to host an Easter-themed party with bouncy bunnies, cheeky chicks and loads of yummy chocolates. The party kicks off at 7pm with fantasy shows throughout the evening; the naughty night draws to a close at 4am the next morning.
Tickets: Entry costs R50p/p for ladies, R100p/p for guys and, if you dress up like an Easter bunny, you get in for free.
